Located on Vancouver Island, the CVRD provides a wide range of local government services to a population of 80,000 within its 4 distinct municipalities and 9 electoral areas.

Are you a dynamic and progressive records management professional with a keen interest in serving your local community? We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join the CVRD in the key role of Manager Corporate Records .

Reporting to the Corporate Officer in the Legislative Services Division of the Corporate Services Department, the Manager Corporate Records is responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of the CVRD’s Corporate Records Program.

Leading a team of Corporate Records Analysts, the Manager Corporate Records will develop policies, standards, guidelines, processes, and procedures for the records and information management framework following legislative requirements, and foster compliance with relevant policies, standards, and processes.

The Manager Corporate Records will also provide guidance on initiatives and programs that include receiving, handling, processing, storing, retrieving, and / or destruction of information or documents in any quantity, medium, or format.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Library and Information Studies, Information Management, Archival Studies, Records Management, Business or Public Administration, or a related field
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in the records and information management field, preferably in a local government environment
  • 2 years of management or supervisory experience in a unionized, public sector environment is preferred
  • Certification as a Certified Records Manager (CRM)
  • Other relevant training and certifications recognized by the Association of Records Managers and Administrators (ARMA) may be considered
  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered

Hours of Work

35-hour full-time work week with the opportunity to participate in the CVRD’s Flex Time Program.

Potential for a part-time / hybrid Work From Home arrangement after an appropriate training / probationary period (this position works at the CVRD’s main office in Duncan, BC, and requires an ongoing in-office presence).

Salary

Salary range of $107,924.87 to $126,173.79 per year, commensurate with experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package including extended health, dental, and insurance benefits, pension, and paid vacation.
