Position : Payroll Supervisor

Reports to : Chief Accountant

Location : Rouyn-Noranda, QC

Role Overview / Purpose :

Reporting to the Chief Accountant, the Payroll Supervisor is responsible to review the hourly and salaried Ontario payrolls for Island Gold Division. The Payroll Supervisor will assist in month end process including accruals and payroll journal entries and will ensure we are using the payroll software with accuracy and efficiency. This person will over see the payroll team of 3-4 personnel.

Primary Responsibilities :

• Review Hourly and Salaried Ontario Payrolls (Prepare when required)
• Act like a resource person for all payroll-related matters
• Perform year-end processes for the division including but to limited to : preparation of T4, reconciliation of accrued vacation and preparation for the new year
• Prepare payroll month-end GL entries, accruals and payroll GL reconciliation
• Answer and provide samples for internal and external auditors on payroll-related items
• Address issues and questions regarding our payroll software
• Lead a team of 3-4 payroll technicians in the completion of all payroll related matters
• Any other related duties
