APSSP - Temporary Psychology Consultant (1.0 FTE)

The Waterloo Catholic District School Board serves over 30000 learners and provides services to students in 50 schools (Kindergarten to Grade 12 and adult learners) across the Waterloo Region.

Minimum Requirements :

As a member of the Student Services Team you will provide assessment and recommendations for students with a broad range of issues. The position involves consultation with students principals teachers parents and community agencies.

• Masters degree in psychology
• Registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario having the authority to perform the controlled act of diagnosis autonomously and school psychology as a declared area of competency with the College or commitment to attain the school psychology designation within 2 years from date of hire.
• Evidence of experience in psychoeducational assessment and consultation
• Ability / attitude to be a positive contributing member of a multidisciplinary team within a number of school settings
• Scope of practice related to children adolescents and young adults
• Demonstrated ability to diagnose disorders related to childrens social emotional behavioural and learning problems
• Demonstrated ability to use a variety of assessment techniques and tools to determine childrens psychological and educational needs and to provide direction for programming
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• The successful candidate will be required to produce a satisfactory Criminal Background Check.
• Must possess a valid drivers licence and be able to use own vehicle

Desired Assets :

Salary Range : APSSP Category 2 $68439. $102604 per year based on 194 school days per year and evaluation of years of experience in accordance with the provisions of the APSSP Collective Agreement. Salary will be prorated based on full-time equivlency.

Hours of Work : Temporary full-time 35 hours per week (January 2026 June 26 2026)

Location(s) : Catholic Education Centre; 35 Weber St. Kitchener (currently staff are working a combination of Catholic Education Centre and schools)
