Job description
Heritage Inn Hotel & Convention Centre in Taber, Alberta is hiring!
What You Will Do:
- Prepare food orders as quickly and efficiently as possible
- Keep work area stocked, organized, and clean at all times
- Ensure work areas and equipment are kept functional and orderly at all times, reporting any deficiencies as necessary
- Prepare and issue products requested by requisition for other departments
- Ensure fridges, freezers, storerooms, and areas where food is stored are kept secure
- Stay up to date on soup of the day, specials, or functions and prepare accordingly
- Assist with the receiving and proper storage of all deliveries
- Perform any other job-related duties assigned by the supervisor
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
- Cares about their professional appearance and follows uniform and dress code standards
- Works cooperatively with others
- Knows how to operate and perform routine maintenance on equipment located in the kitchen
- Applies safe work practices
- Is able to perform efficiently under pressure and within time restraints
- Is able to work shift and weekend work
Skill Requirements:
- Previous experience in the food industry is an asset (2 years or more preferred)
- Knowledge of and experience with Canadian cuisine is an asset
- Excellent communication skills
- Great organizational skills
- Must have the ability to handle and solve customer related concerns and report to supervisor, as necessary
- Knowledge of WHMIS program
- Food Safe Level I certificate is required
Other:
- Job may require heavy lifting, standing for long periods of time, and working at a rigorous pace
