Solution Services Inc is currently looking for an Experienced Valve Technician to join our Valve Division team in Grande Prairie.

The ideal candidate will have direct experience in troubleshooting, servicing, and repairing valves. Field valve servicing will make up the majority of duties, but will also include shop repairs. Machining experience and pressurized equipment experience will be given preference.

Responsibilities

  • Field valve troubleshooting, servicing and repairs
  • Shop valve cleaning, troubleshooting, tear down, servicing, repairs, rebuilding, tagging and painting
  • Assembling and breaking down new or used equipment
  • Hydro Testing
  • Documenting detailed service records
  • Courteous and professional communication with customers, vendors and fellow employees
  • Knowledge and adherence with Solution Services Policies and Procedures
  • General shop / equipment maintenance and up-keep including storage, equipment clean-up and shipping and receiving as needed

Requirements

  • Very strong mechanical aptitude and experience
  • Knowledge of Gate, Control, Check and Ball valves
  • Knowledge of Pneumatic and Hydraulic actuators
  • Machining experience an asset
  • Pressurized equipment experience an asset
  • Technical certificate an asset
  • Strong problem-solving ability with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis. Must be able to frequently stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms.
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as alone with minimal supervision
  • Ability to read and write clearly
  • Understanding and fluency in Microsoft Office programs
  • Must be able to operate safely in a heavy equipment shop environment as well as on-site
  • Knowledge and understanding of Sour Service / H2S conditions and procedures during servicing / repair operations
