Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Senior Financial Accountant to join our Clients Team. This role is ideal for a CPA-designated professional with strong experience in property accounting who thrives in a fast-paced, portfolio-based environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in financial reporting, audit coordination, and tax compliance for a diverse portfolio of residential and commercial properties.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the financial reporting for a portfolio of approximately 75 residential and commercial properties.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with accounting standards.
- Compile and maintain year-end audit working papers and act as a key point of contact for external auditors.
- Liaise closely with internal tax teams to support accurate and timely tax filings.
- Prepare and review partnership and corporate tax returns, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
- Perform detailed variance analysis, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities, and providing clear explanations to management.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes as required.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with process improvements to enhance efficiency and reporting accuracy.
Qualifications & Experience
- CPA designation (required).
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive accounting experience, with a strong preference for property-side experience (residential and commercial).
- Solid understanding of property accounting, financial reporting, and audit processes.
- Experience preparing partnership and corporate tax returns is strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to manage multiple entities and deadlines in a portfolio environment.
