Job Title : LRV Maintenance Technician Job Description

This role involves performing an overhaul on the current Light Rail Vehicle (LRV) C9 fleet, specifically replacing cabling on wheels and related components. The candidate will follow established procedures to remove old equipment and install new parts.

Responsibilities

• Remove old components and install new ones using mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical tools.
• Operate power tools, such as impact and hammer tools, to loosen and remove bolts.
• Assemble and install hardware components, adhering to all specifications.
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment indoors with minimal outdoor exposure.
• Clean work surfaces using pneumatic wire brushes and apply primer or paint for new installations.
• Perform basic electrical checks using tools like multimeters or resistance testers.
• Efficiently uninstall old equipment hardware from transit vehicles.
• Thoroughly clean and prepare work areas to ensure optimal conditions for new installations.
• Provide detailed daily reports on tasks completed, noting any deviations or issues encountered.
• Strictly maintain compliance with all safety standards and electrical codes throughout every phase of work.

Work Environment

Work in the Rail / Rolling stock division, primarily indoors with a focus on safety. Shift is Monday to Friday, 7 : 30 am to 4 : 30 pm. Safety boots are required, and other personal protective equipment can be arranged. The position is a 2-month contract with the possibility of extension.
