Established in 1976 the Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies (SIIT) is a First Nation governed post-secondary institution. Nature and Scope
The Admissions Advisor focuses on supporting applicants through the entire application process at SIIT and advises on options for post-secondary funding and other resources needed to ensure a smooth transition . Working with the Admissions & Advisory Services Department, this position includes communications coordination, and admissions advising to prospective candidates. This position will positively promote and create an environment that demonstrates SIIT's vision, mission, and mandate.
General Accountability
The Admissions Advisor will play a key role in front-line provisions by assessing, advising and coordinating new learner applicants at SIIT. The incumbent will actively engage with potential applicants and guide them through the proper process and procedure of admissions in order to become a registered learner.
The incumbent is responsible for providing support services required by a new applicant such as exploring personal goals, identifying program requirements and potential support services required to successfully transition into a fully registered learner by using a case-management approach. This position is accountable for follow-up with all SIIT applicants, and ensuring applicants are moving through the application process. This position provides additional support as required and includes the following broad range of accountabilities :

Required Qualifications and Experience : A certificate or diploma in a business-related field is required, with a minimum of one year of experience working with a learner population in an advisory capacity. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Knowledge of First Nations cultures and organizations would be an asset. Incumbent must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation as travel may be required. This position may also be required to work outside of normal business hours (evenings and weekends); travel and flexibility are requirements of this position.
