What You’ll Be Doing
Reporting to the Food and Beverage Manager or designate, the Dining Room Server is accountable to support all aspects of hospitality style dining room service to meet the needs of the Residents in accordance with legislative requirements and organization standards.
Responsible for all aspects of hospitality style dining service utilizing the Ready, Set, Serve Program as it applies to the serving areas, setting, serving and cleaning tablesAssists with the preparation and presentation of food under the direction of the ChefMaintains established standards for cleanliness and sanitation throughout all aspects of food preparation and service as required by the health departmentPromotes and tracks a la carte and wine service sales in accordance with prescribed proceduresComplies with provincial regulations, established food and beverage department policies and procedures and ORCA standards to ensure the department is tour readyParticipates in drills to prepare for emergencies and attends education sessions related to emergency preparednessWorks in accordance with the organization’s Health and Safety Policies and Procedures and in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety ActWhat You Need To Know
Must have the Smart Serve designation OR Serve It Right (SIRS) designation (for Saskatchewan locations) and one year experience in dining room serviceAbility to work independently and / or as a member of a teamSafe Food Handling Certification preferredExperience working with seniors and knowledge of the aging process is an assetProven customer service skills to work with residents of various cultural backgroundsEffective verbal and written English communication skills requiredSienna Senior Living is committed to employment equity, diversity, and inclusion in the workplace.
