Registered Early Childhood Educators (RECEs) and Early Childhood Paraprofessionals (ECPs)
Position Summary
In your role as an Educator, you will contribute to a team of highly skilled and passionate Educators providing care and education for children ages 0-5 years old. In this position, you will implement an emergent curriculum through a pedagogical lens, facilitate learning experiences, remain curious alongside the children, and consistently strive to deepen your understanding of the culture you cultivate within a classroom.
19 Locations across London, Dorchester, Huron County (Exeter, Zurich, and Hensall), and SarniaPermanent EmploymentPart time opportunities up to 30 hours per weekFull Time opportunities ranging from 30 to 40 hours per weekStart date : ImmediatelyResponsibilities
Maintain constant supervision and prioritize the physical and emotional safety of children at all timesImplement an emergent curriculum by fostering and nurturing child-led learning experiences that support children in exploring topics that cultivate their curiosityCollaborate with families to share insights, involve them in the curriculum planning process, and seek input on children’s interests and needsSeek to understand children’s diverse needs and abilities and provide an inclusive program within a community based practiceRespond to all personal care needs of children throughout the day (e.g. diapering, toileting, meal gatherings, rest time, transition times, etc.)Comprehend and adhere to the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA), health and safety guidelines, and Employer’s policies and proceduresPerform a range of administrative functions, such as documenting children’s attendance, maintaining daily charts and medication logs, and accident reports as required dailyLive into value of lifelong learning through attending professional development and engaging in reflective conversations alongside colleagues and community partners to create an inclusive and nurturing environment for all childrenQualifications
Experience working with children, including those with diverse needs, is considered an assetPost-secondary degree or diploma in Early Childhood EducationPost-secondary degree or diploma in related field (including but not limited to Recreation and Leisure, Social Service Worker (SSW), Developmental Service Worker (DSW), Child and Youth Worker (CYW), BA in Psychology, Child and Youth Studies, Sociology)If applicable, member in good standing with the Ontario College of Early Childhood EducatorsStrong critical thinking, communication, and decision-making skillsA strong understanding of child development, encompassing practices and pedagogical approaches tailored to the developmental stage of the childCurious, reflective, and eager for ongoing professional growthDemonstrates a high degree of flexibility and adaptability in responding to the evolving needs, interests, and dynamics of the children, the program, and the environmentVulnerable Sectors Check within the last 6 monthsStandard First Aid and CPR Level C (WSIB approved)Immunizations Records (Tetanus Toxoid and Rubella)Why Join ?
