McArthur River, located in northern Saskatchewan, is the world’s largest high-grade uranium mine. The uranium produced at McArthur River is used for nuclear fuel products, which utilities around the world rely on to generate safe, reliable, emissions-free nuclear power. Cameco is one of the largest global providers of the uranium fuel needed to energize a clean-air world.

The Role

As the Raisebore / Driller 1, you will be responsible for overseeing the training and safety of raisebore / longhole personnel at second and third levels of progression.

In this role, you will :

  • Operate raisebore / longhole drills and all associated equipment
  • Co-ordinate moving, set-up, teardown, and placements of raisebore / longhole drilling equipment
  • Assist in the installation and removal of bits and reamers.

Required :

  • Minimum Grade 12 education or equivalent
  • Minimum of five years of relevant work experience as a raisebore / longhole operator in a mining environment
  • Minimum of five years underground work experience
  • Strong organizational, problem solving and communication skills
  • Rotating day shift / night shift schedule
  • Ability to obtain a Saskatchewan Blasting certificate
  • Recommended :

  • Experience in longhole drilling and blasting
  • Mine Rescue experience
  • Ability to operate small pieces of equipment (skid steer)

    Preference will be given to Residents of Saskatchewan’s North (RSN).

    The McArthur River operation is located in northern Saskatchewan and operates on a rotational schedule. Employees commute to the site by aircraft from designated locations in Saskatchewan.
