Role Summary
Hours of Work : 7 : 30 AM to 3 : 30 PM
Responsible for installation, repair and preventative maintenance of electrical equipment and circuits as well as troubleshooting electrical malfunctions with plant equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Electrical installation, maintenance and repair of wiring systems, transformers, switching equipment, relays, motors and other electrical and electronic systems and industrial equipment
- Electrical installation equipment layout, connect, test and troubleshooting
- Prepare plans, sketches and specifications of electrical systems, electronic systems and industrial equipment
- Maintains accurate records and completes written reports using a computer
- Oversee completion of work by contractors and provide direction and training to other staff
- Interface with suppliers and contractors on a technical level for the purpose of sourcing, troubleshooting and / or to ensure program goals are achieved
- Follow CMMS maintenance system procedures by completing Work Orders, reports and data logging using a computer
- Provides, updates and maintains the required documentation of all electrical maintenance activities
- Initiates and expedites parts orders
- Ensure safety by working in accordance with the Ontario Hydro Electrical Code and CSA-Z432 safety standard
- Assist with mechanical repairs as required
- Other duties as assigned by a Supervisor or Manager
- Willing and able to work at heights as required.
- Willing and able to work overtime and flexible hours as required.
- Must adhere to all MAFACT requirements
- Adhere to all applicable IATF 16949 policies and procedures
- Must comply with all ISO 14001 (Environmental) system and standards as it pertains to work.
- Abide by all AODA and C-TPAT procedures that apply to their position
Key Qualifications / Requirements
Valid Industrial Electrician License (442A) is required3-5 Years’ experience in a Manufacturing Facility preferredExperience in the following areas of Industrial Electrical Work considered an asset : Power Distribution, Lighting and controls for Facilities and process equipment (Fire Protection systems, HVAC, conveyors, Exhaust systems)Experience in troubleshooting and programming PLC / Robotics in addition to electrical control system design preferred – specifically with ABB and MotomanPrevious experience with designing, building and wiring panels is requiredIntermediate level skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)Ability to read and understand technical documents and schematic design specificationsGood analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsReceptive to feedback, eager to learn and embrace continuous improvementWilling to build strong working relationships and contribute to a positive work environmentWilling and able to work overtime as requiredAdditional Information
