We are looking for a Sr. Quality Engineer to join the growing team of our client in Toronto. Our Client is a a leading supplier of Automotive Injection Molding Components.

The Senior Quality Engineer coordinates the activities of the quality system while supporting a limited number of customers. The Senior Quality Engineer is responsible for coordinating and administering the company quality program in relationship with designated customers, working to push through internal corrective actions and supervising the quality inspectors

Responsibilities

  • Act as customer liaison for on-going quality issues on specific customers
  • Serve as internal champion for specific customer issues or concerns
  • Lead root cause investigations on both internal and external quality concerns for specific customers
  • Supervise and support Quality Inspectors with tasks related to daily production
  • Participate in new business reviews, customer programs and supplier development
  • Assist in establishing procedures for assigned programs to ensure high standards of quality, reliability and safety
  • Work with APQP team on new program launches to ensure smooth transition from GP-12 to production
  • Assist in new program feasibility review
  • Assist with promoting and implementing company-wide quality improvement efforts
  • Lead quality process improvements
  • Support and assist with IATF16949 compliance

    • Qualifications

  • Injection molding automotive experience
  • 5-10 yrs experience in quality engineering (SPC and problem-solving techniques)
  • Tier 1 / Tier 2 experience required
  • Supervisory experience required
  • Good organizational & interpersonal skills
  • Good oral and written communications skills
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and other related software programs as required
  • Good understanding of metrology (GD&T, CMM, etc.)
  • Knowledge of APQP and PPAP processes
  • Familiar with ISO9001 and IATF16949 standards
