Duties & Responsibilities
Develop / update and oversee the implementation and maintenance of a health and safety strategic plan for the East Penn CanadaCreate, implement and communicate policies and procedures to ensure alignment with the leadership team, branch network and local networkOversee the management of post-incident requirementsManage the provision of a healthy and safe workplace environment for all employees, customers, visitors, and service providers at East Penn locations across CanadaCollect, monitor, and analyze health and safety trends, and identify negative trends and investigate their root causeEnsure companywide compliance to all legislated and / or internal policies and procedureDevelop, build and maintain health and safety training programs that reflect the Company’s policies, SOP’s, government regulations and industry standardsQualifications
Post-Secondary Education, preferably in a related field to health & safetyHealth and Safety designation (completed or in progress)Six plus years in a health and safety role, preferably in a warehousing / logistics, and transportation environmentRegistered groups – Canadian Board of Registered Safety Professionals (nice to have)Experience with handling and transportation of TDG, hazardous materials an assetExperience with health & safety legislation / regulations in multiple provinces and across bordersOther Considerations
Available to travel across Canada and / or within GTA to branch locations on a semi-regular basis as needed.Background checks including criminal checks & employment references will be requestedApplicants interviewed for this position will receive a notification regarding a hiring decision within 45 days of their last interview in the recruitment process.Expected hiring range for this position is $90,000 - $120,000 annually expected total compensation.
