Job descriptionDevelop / update and oversee the implementation and maintenance of a health and safety strategic plan for the East Penn Canada Create, implement and communicate policies and procedures to ensure alignment with the leadership team, branch network and local network Oversee the management of post-incident requirements Manage the provision of a healthy and safe workplace environment for all employees, customers, visitors, and service providers at East Penn locations across Canada Collect, monitor, and analyze health and safety trends, and identify negative trends and investigate their root cause Ensure companywide compliance to all legislated and / or internal policies and procedure Develop, build and maintain health and safety training programs that reflect the Company’s policies, SOP’s, government regulations and industry standards Post-Secondary Education, preferably in a related field to health & safety Health and Safety designation (completed or in progress) Six plus years in a health and safety role, preferably in a warehousing / logistics, and transportation environment Registered groups – Canadian Board of Registered Safety Professionals (nice to have) Experience with handling and transportation of TDG, hazardous materials an asset Experience with health & safety legislation / regulations in multiple provinces and across borders Available to travel across Canada and / or within GTA to branch locations on a semi-regular basis as needed. Background checks including criminal checks & employment references will be requested Applicants interviewed for this position will receive a notification regarding a hiring decision within 45 days of their last interview in the recruitment process. Expected hiring range for this position is $90,000 - $120,000 annually expected total compensation. Salary to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data
