Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop / update and oversee the implementation and maintenance of a health and safety strategic plan for the East Penn Canada
  • Create, implement and communicate policies and procedures to ensure alignment with the leadership team, branch network and local network
  • Oversee the management of post-incident requirements
  • Manage the provision of a healthy and safe workplace environment for all employees, customers, visitors, and service providers at East Penn locations across Canada
  • Collect, monitor, and analyze health and safety trends, and identify negative trends and investigate their root cause
  • Ensure companywide compliance to all legislated and / or internal policies and procedure
  • Develop, build and maintain health and safety training programs that reflect the Company’s policies, SOP’s, government regulations and industry standards
  • Qualifications

  • Post-Secondary Education, preferably in a related field to health & safety
  • Health and Safety designation (completed or in progress)
  • Six plus years in a health and safety role, preferably in a warehousing / logistics, and transportation environment
  • Registered groups – Canadian Board of Registered Safety Professionals (nice to have)
  • Experience with handling and transportation of TDG, hazardous materials an asset
  • Experience with health & safety legislation / regulations in multiple provinces and across borders
  • Other Considerations

  • Available to travel across Canada and / or within GTA to branch locations on a semi-regular basis as needed.
  • Background checks including criminal checks & employment references will be requested
  • Applicants interviewed for this position will receive a notification regarding a hiring decision within 45 days of their last interview in the recruitment process.
  • Expected hiring range for this position is $90,000 - $120,000 annually expected total compensation. Salary to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data
