IMMEDIATE INTERIM OPPORTUNITY

Interim VP IT – EHR Implementation

Reports To : CIO

Duration : 12 - 18 months

Location : Waterloo (Onsite)

Our client, a high-profile hospital, is looking for an experienced IT professional who can lead them through a large and complex EHR implementation which will change the conversation and value of technology within the organization. They are investing in this role to ensure the organization is resourced effectively to embrace this fantastic opportunity for transformative change. The interim during this assignment will be responsible for leading a diverse and talented team alongside performing an assessment of all related technology business processes, operations, and systems to ensure readiness for the new system. They will create an innovative implementation strategy and build a roadmap for transformation engaging all key stakeholders and ensuring accountability. The interim will work closely with the vendors and employees to ensure this process is an enriching and positive experience for staff and patients.

The interim must have a robust knowledge of best practices, contemporary and innovative IT approaches alongside a proven track record of successful experience in designing and transforming IT services during an EHR implementation.

To be successful in this assignment you will be a senior subject matter expert with a great awareness for environment, be comfortable with complex information management, be skilled and knowledgeable in change management and system transformation and have a leadership style focused on people and client service.

Key Accountabilities :

  • Provide advisory support to the CIO on the system implementation.
  • Create the roadmap for the system implementation and communicate this effectively across all stakeholder groups.
  • Lead the project successfully through implementation managing budgets and timelines effectively.
  • Set up and maintain a suite of best practice project and risk management tools and processes. This role is essential in supporting the PMO team by developing robust project and risk management tracking and reporting tools, ensuring all members have the necessary resources for successful project delivery.
  • Generating regular, detailed reports tailored for various audiences, ensuring transparency and continuous monitoring of project progress and risks.
  • Play a strategic role in guiding and training team members, fostering collaboration, and continuously improving PMO services.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining comprehensive reporting and analytics processes. This includes generating regular reports on project status, risks, and milestones for various stakeholders, as well as analyzing project data to provide actionable insights.
  • Determine organization-wide information needs and develop and lead implementation and maintenance strategies in support of these needs.

Competencies and Requirements :

  • Master Level, University Education in a relevant field, is preferred but any other combination of University Degree(s).
  • Experience leading EHR implementations or upgrades.
  • Professional leadership / IT designations or other specializations like PMP, PROSCI, LEAN is highly valued as professional background.
