Casual Bus Drivers are called in as required when a permanent employee is absent. Bus Drivers are valuable members of the team who provide safe, efficient and punctual transportation of students.

The duties of a Bus Driver are to :

• Support safe, positive environments for students.
• Ensure student transportation is provided with due regard for safety.
• Provide supervision of students during transit and assist in supervision during boarding and unloading.
• Keep students on the bus until regular school supervision is provided.
• Other duties as assigned by the Principal or Transportation Manager and those listed in Job Description - Transportation : Bus Driver.

The successful candidate will have the desired qualifications :

Applicants not currently working for GSSD will be required to submit a recent (within the last six months) criminal record and vulnerable sector check acceptable to the Board of Education prior to offer of employment.
