They are seeking a Data Engineer for their team in Edmonton Alberta.

Key Responsibilities :
- Managing enterprise-wide data warehousing in conjunction with Azure and Microsoft Fabric.
- Dimensional modelling according to Kimball / star-schema principles.
- Managing ETL processes using Data Factory, Dataflows Gen 2, and Notebooks in Microsoft Fabric.
- Developing and maintaining Power BI reports for business units.
- Performance optimizing SQL and DAX within the data warehouse, ETL, and BI systems.
- Maintaining the data platforms.
Required Skills and Experience :
- Proficiency with Azure data engineering technologies, such as ADLS Gen 2, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, etc.
- SQL querying.
- Knowledge of Kimball enterprise data warehousing and dimensional modelling principles.
- ETL system development using Data Factory, Dataflows Gen 2, and Power Query.
- Analysis Services tabular model development using Power BI.
- Advanced DAX.
- Power BI reports and dashboards creation.
- Ability to propose solutions based on Microsoft MVP & SQLBI articles, Microsoft documentation, whitepapers, and community publications.
Additional skills would be beneficial :
- Azure administration, SQL optimization.
- Advanced Power Query development.
- ETL system development using Fabric Notebooks or Jupyter Notebooks.
- Performance optimization using DAX Studio.
- Power BI paginated reports development.
- Knowledge of APIs and Postman.
- Experience with Python data science and visualization libraries.
