Role Overview
As an Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of engineers responsible for building scalable, high‑performance systems that power our sustainability platform. You’ll define technical strategy, guide architectural decisions, and foster a culture of excellence and innovation. This role combines hands‑on technical leadership with people management to ensure delivery of robust, cloud‑native solutions aligned with our product roadmap.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of backend developers, fostering growth and technical excellence.
- Define and drive backend architecture strategy, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
- Collaborate across teams : work closely with front‑end engineers leveraging React, Node.js, and TypeScript to deliver seamless user experiences integrated with backend services.
- Oversee development of microservices and data pipelines using Python, Go, Pandas, Polars, and DuckDB.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams in an agile‑driven environment.
- Architect and deploy solutions on Kubernetes in an event‑driven architecture.
- Ensure best practices in test‑driven development, CI / CD, and cloud‑native deployments.
- Manage infrastructure and deployments on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), leveraging Kubernetes, Pub / Sub, and asynchronous messaging patterns.
- Champion engineering standards, code quality, and operational excellence across the team.
- Collaborate with leadership on strategic initiatives, including AI‑powered product evolution.
What We’re Looking For
8–12 years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.Strong technical background in backend development (Python, Go) and system design.Proven experience with microservices architecture, cloud‑native applications, and distributed systems.Hands‑on knowledge of GCP, Kubernetes, Pub / Sub, and modern DevOps practices.Familiarity with data engineering tools (Pandas, Polars, DuckDB) and CI / CD pipelines (Docker, CircleCI, Terraform).Understanding of front‑end technologies (React, Node.js, TypeScript) and integration patterns.Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.Passion for sustainability and interest in AI‑driven technologies.Why Join Us
