Our client in the elevator industry is seeking a Project Manager, Modernization, who will be responsible for planning, executing, and delivering elevator modernization projects within the construction and building services environment. This role oversees all phases of assigned projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with all applicable quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities:
• Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, timelines, milestones, and resource requirements
• Manage all aspects of modernization projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation, and risk management
• Collaborate with clients to understand project requirements and expectations and ensure alignment with project goals
• Coordinate closely with internal teams such as engineers, supervisors, and technicians to ensure project deliverables meet quality and timeline expectations
• Manage subcontractors and suppliers to ensure work is completed within budget, schedule, and quality standards
• Monitor project progress and provide regular status updates to clients, stakeholders, and internal teams
• Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact to scope, schedule, and budget
• Ensure compliance with all applicable safety, quality, and regulatory standards throughout the project lifecycle
• Maintain accurate and complete project documentation, including project plans, progress reports, change orders, and related records
• Ensure adherence to applicable building, safety, and industry-specific codes and standards
• Conduct project close-out activities and post-project reviews to identify lessons learned and drive continuous improvement
• Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience managing construction or modernization projects
• Strong project management expertise, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation, and risk management
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and implement timely solutions
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
• Knowledge of relevant safety, quality, and industry standards
• Valid G-class driver’s license and ability to travel within the Greater Toronto Area based on operational needs
