JOB TITLE : Construction / Manufacturing Accounts Controller
JOB TYPE : Full-time, Permanent
SALARY : $100,000 / annum (subject to experience)

LOCATION : In-Person, Bradford West Gwillimbury (first 3 months training will be in Bolton, ON)
The Construction Accounting Controller is responsible for overseeing all accounting operations related to construction projects, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and strong internal controls. This role plays a critical part in project cost management, contract accounting, and supporting leadership with timely financial insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting functions including job cost accounting, general ledger, AP / AR, Payroll, and financial reporting
- Manage construction-specific accounting processes : Percentage-of-completion revenue recognition, Job costing and cost-to-complete forecasting
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Monitor project budgets, identify cost variances, and work with project managers to address issues proactively
- Oversee billing processes, including progress billings, lien waivers, and retainage
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations, contractual requirements, etc.
Manage cash flow forecasting and banking relationships
Supervise and mentor accounting staff; ensure accuracy and efficiency of daily operationsCoordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and legal counsel as neededImplement and maintain internal controls and accounting policiesSupport executive leadership with financial analysis and strategic recommendationsQualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)5+ years of accounting experience, with significant experience in construction accountingStrong knowledge of job costing, WIP reporting, and construction contractsProficiency with construction accounting software (Jonas or similar)Familiarity with bonding, insurance reporting, and union payroll (if applicable)Advanced Excel skillsExcellent organizational, leadership, and communication skillsAbility to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environmentExperience working with general contractors, subcontractors, or developersKnowledge of multi-entity or multi-project environments is a plus#J-18808-Ljbffr
