Appointment of Occasional Teachers in Long Term Assignments
This assignment shall be filled in accordance with Part A, Article 17.3 of the current OECTA Elementary Collective Agreement, wherein priority placement will be given to unplaced, qualified redundant teacher applicants from the Elementary Teacher bargaining in order of seniority. In the event the assignment remains unfilled, qualified applications from the Occasional Roster will be considered.
Notwithstanding the above, we encourage applications from all certified teacher applicants as well as education students holding, or who have applied for, a Temporary Certificate of Registration and Qualification from the Ontario College of Teachers.
Please note that the posted end date is subject to change and the assignment may terminate as follows :
on a date determined to meet a Board staffing requirement; or,
the last teaching day before the return date of the absent teacher; or,
by no later than the last teaching day of the current school year.
This assignment may end sooner than the posted end date.
