We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Ontario Land Surveyor (OLS) to join our team. The successful candidate must hold an active OLS designation in Ontario along with a Certificate of Authorization (COFA). This role involves leading and overseeing survey operations, ensuring the accuracy of measurements, compliance with legislation, and the delivery of high-quality plans for a wide range of land development and civil infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities
Lead and conduct legal and engineering land surveys in accordance with Ontario regulations and standards.
Ensure all work adheres to the Surveyors Act, OLS practice standards, municipal requirements, and safety protocols.
Review and sign survey plans, reports, and legal boundary documents under OLS authority.
Prepare and certify detailed survey plans, maps, and schematics using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Revit, and Trimble software.
Oversee field surveys using GPS, Total Stations, 3D scanners, and other advanced surveying equipment.
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to survey crews and junior staff.
Perform boundary surveys, topographic surveys, SRPRs, subdivision plans, condominium plans, and construction layout/staking.
Maintain and manage accurate survey records in compliance with provincial standards.
Utilize GIS platforms such as ArcGIS and Trimble systems for mapping and spatial data analysis.
Apply advanced mathematical principles (trigonometry, geometry, algebra) to compute distances, angles, elevations, and other parameters.
Collaborate with engineers, architects, planners, and construction teams to ensure survey data aligns with project requirements.
Requirements
Active Ontario Land Surveyor (OLS) designation - mandatory.
Valid Certificate of Authorization (COFA) or ability to obtain/transfer one.
Proven experience conducting legal boundary surveys and managing survey projects in Ontario.
Strong proficiency with surveying instruments: GPS (Trimble), Total Stations, robotic equipment, 3D laser scanners, and data collectors.
Skilled in CAD and drafting software including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Revit, and Carlson.
Experience with GIS platforms such as ArcGIS, Trimble Business Center, or equivalent solutions.
In-depth understanding of Ontario land tenure, survey law, real property boundaries, and cadastral standards.
Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Excellent communication and leadership abilities for working with multidisciplinary teams.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
