Job Description
Our clent within the Manufacturing industry is seeking an HR Generalist to join their team on a permanent basis. This role requires you to work fully on-site in Brampton. The candidate MUST have unionized experience and Manufacturing industry experience.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Act as a supportive resource for employees and managers, addressing inquiries related to employee relations, performance management, and compensation / benefits.
- Serve as the initial contact for Union / Collective Agreement issues, assisting in the resolution of grievances.
- Administer the Collective Agreement and provide guidance to management on its interpretation.
- Assist in managing employee incidents, discipline, and terminations, collaborating closely with the Operations team.
- Offer coaching and support to employees at all levels, addressing both work-related and personal concerns.
- Provide training and ongoing feedback to enhance employee development.
- Foster a welcoming and inclusive workplace environment.
- Conduct exit interviews, analyze trends, and make recommendations for improvement.
- Respond promptly and courteously to employee and manager inquiries, delivering exceptional customer service.
- Maintain accurate records and metrics related to grievances.
- Investigate employee and labour relations complaints, including workplace violence, harassment, and human rights issues, and provide comprehensive reports with recommendations.
- Coordinate labour relations procedures such as grievance meetings, arbitrations, and mediations.
- Collaborate with the Senior Manager of Claims & Return to Work on occupational and non-occupational injury / illness cases.
Qualifications and Skills
2-3 years working as an HR generalistStrong communication, both verbal and written
