Unit Summary
The Regional Trauma, Emergency & Critical Care Program encompasses the Hamilton General Emergency Department, the Burn Unit, Med / Surg ICU, Neuro / Trauma ICU, and the Trauma ward and step-done unit.
The Hamilton General site is a regional center for trauma, burns, neurosurgery, cardiac and stroke. The Emergency Department supports all of these regional services as well as our community.
Position Summary
The Clinical Leader for the Hamilton General Emergency Department works under the direction of the Clinical Manager and with the multidisciplinary care team to support and promote quality emergency care for patients and families.
The Clinical Leader is responsible for supporting front line teams related to day-to-day issues including patient flow, staff resources, support for health and safety practices, revision of policies and procedures, promoting positive patient experience and overseeing operational supplies and equipment.
The Clinical Leader will support ongoing quality improvement initiatives, including those related to ensuring safe patient care and Ontario’s Pay for Results metrics for Hospitals.

Qualifications
1. Current registration with a relevant Professional College
2. Baccalaureate Degree in one of the Health Disciplines
3. Recent & relevant leadership experience within the acute care clinical setting
4. Demonstrated leadership and coordination skills in a fast- paced environment
5. Demonstrated creativity and innovation in the delivery of patient care services
6. Skill in facilitating quality improvement programs
7. Demonstrated excellence in leadership, communication, organization, team building and conflict resolution as well as the ability to initiate and model positive change
8. Knowledge of the roles of the multidisciplinary health care team
9. Demonstrated advanced critical thinking skills in the provision of patient focused care
10. Demonstrated excellence in the ability to initiate, model and support change in a constructive manner
11. Demonstrated commitment to continuous education and learning for self and others
12. Demonstrated commitment to the mission, vision and values of HHS
