TITLE : Engineering Project Engineer Serialization
DEPARTMENT : Project Engineering
POSITION REPORTING TO : Controls Engineering Supervisor
TERM : Full-time, Permanent
General Description
Project Engineer (controls) with primary focus on implementation of new serialized manufacturing and support of existing serialized production lines.
This role includes delivering full track and trace aggregation and labeling solutions on all packaging formats. Responsibilities include administration and support of level 1 and level 2 serialized systems.
Other duties will include completion of other project related tasks and day to day support of production control systems.
Responsibilities :
- Develop, manage and support of serialization projects. Includes ongoing day to day support of serialized production lines and systems.
- Engagement and coordination of external partners to plan and implement serialized projects from start to completion.
- Validation of serialized system changes and new product introductions.
- Work closely with production, IDTS, IT and other stakeholders as needed to help onboard new customers and address serialization specific technical aspects.
- Serialization SME for internal and external technical inquiries, audits and investigations.
- Influencing within cross-functional team members without direct authority
- Monitoring projects for variance in scope, schedule, budget and risk and resolving issues and project conflicts.
- Communicating project status to front-line personnel through to senior management
- Developing optimum technical solutions in collaboration with Customers, System Owners, EHS and Quality Assurance to meet business needs and regulatory requirements
- Being responsible for the specification, procurement, installation, commissioning, qualification and hand- over of controls engineering projects
- Championing Environmental, Health & Safety awareness through all project stages
- Selecting and managing professional consultants, contractors and suppliers
- Applying technical expertise and project management principles during all project stages : specification, procurement, installation, commissioning, systems qualification and hand-over
Experience and Skills
- P.Eng. license or ability to obtain
- PLC programming and troubleshooting. Some programming and scripting is required.
- Serialization development and implementation
- Strong understanding of PC systems and software as well as controls and controls systems.
- Ability to work in a multi-task environment with multiple projects as part of cross functional teams and independently
- Contractor management skills
- Strong knowledge of Good Engineering Practices, current GMPs, electrical / machine control standards, and applicable legislation
- Sound analytical, problem solving and decision making skills
- Excellent project management skills and ability to handle multiple complex projects
- Strong interpersonal, leadership, negotiation, organization, and conflict resolution skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills required.
