Job Summary
The Team
The Courtenay Child and Youth Mental Health (CYMH) Team is a diverse and experienced group of professionals dedicated to supporting the mental health and well-being of children, teens, and their families. Our team consists of 10 clinicians and one psychologist, each bringing a range of expertise, including early years specialists, adolescent-focused practitioners, high-risk outreach, specialized intake / brief therapy, and the capacity for psychological assessments. As an established and highly respected team, we work with some of the most complex mental health cases in the Comox Valley. Collaboration is at the heart of what we do, and our team is known for its kindness, mutual support, and deep knowledge base, ensuring that we provide exceptional care to our clients.
The Role
As a CYMH Clinician, you will work directly with children and families, creating assessment and treatment plans for those with moderate to severe mental health challenges. Your responsibilities will include providing individual and group counseling, and collaborating with contracted psychiatry when necessary. This role has a significant impact on the lives of the children and families we serve, as we are known for offering timely care and receiving positive feedback from both families and the community. NOTE : If your degree was obtained outside of Canada, you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services ( ICES ). You must provide a basic report by the closing date of this posting to be considered.

About this Position :
There are 2 vacancies available, both based in Courtenay :
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to two (2) days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
A Criminal Record Check (CRC) and Criminal Record Review Act Check (CRRA) will be required.
