Job Title : Brunch Server

Location : House of Dawn Steakhouse (or your venue name)

Department : Front of House (FOH)

Reports to : Restaurant Manager / Floor Manager

Employment Type : Part-time / Full-time (as needed)

Role Summary

The Brunch Server delivers a warm, efficient, and polished brunch experience by guiding guests through the menu, executing accurate service steps, and collaborating closely with the bar and kitchen. This role requires strong product knowledge (coffee, brunch cocktails, and food), excellent pace under pressure, and consistent attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Experience & Service

Greet and seat guests promptly; manage first impressions with hospitality and confidence.

Guide guests through brunch menu items, features, dietary needs, and upsell opportunities.

Take accurate orders, repeat key notes (allergies / modifications), and enter orders correctly into POS.

Execute full-service steps : table maintenance, drink refills, coursing, clearing, boxing, and check presentation.

Anticipate guest needs and handle concerns professionally, escalating when appropriate.

Beverage & Brunch Knowledge

Prepare and serve coffee / tea drinks to standard (or coordinate with barista program if applicable).

Recommend brunch beverages : mimosas, Caesars, spritzes, bloody marys, and non-alcoholic options.

Maintain responsible alcohol service practices and comply with all applicable liquor laws / policies.

Teamwork & Communication

Communicate clearly with kitchen, expo, and bar to ensure timing, accuracy, and quality.

Support teammates during rushes (running food, pre-bussing, water service, resetting).

Participate in pre-shift meetings, learn features, and maintain daily product knowledge.

Standards, Cleanliness & Compliance

Maintain clean, organized sections and side stations; follow opening / closing checklists.

Follow food safety, sanitation, and allergy protocols consistently.

Handle cash / credit transactions accurately; follow tip-out and cash-out procedures.

Uphold brand standards for uniform, grooming, punctuality, and professionalism.

Qualifications

1+ year serving experience preferred (brunch / high-volume experience is a strong asset).

Strong multitasking skills and calm execution in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent communication, guest recovery, and upselling ability.

Basic wine / cocktail knowledge is an asset (willing to train).

Must be able to stand / walk for long periods and lift up to ~25 lbs (11 kg).

Serving It Right (BC) or local equivalent required (or ability to obtain promptly).

Schedule Expectations

Availability on weekends and holidays is typically required.

Morning start times; ability to work peak brunch rushes.
