Position summary :
The Technical Support Specialist (Days) is responsible for the maintenance, support, and security of all the technology infrastructure required to support Hospital operations, including but not limited to physical / virtual servers and associated software, wired / wireless networks, databases, interfaces, telecommunications, and audio visual. The Technical Support Specialist will provide expert technical support for all internal users, employing a high degree of customer service, technical expertise, and timelines. The incumbent may also be assigned to technology related projects.

Responsibilities Includes :
Provide end user technical support for applications, databases, reports, and interfacePlan and support application upgrades and enhancements in conjunction with sponsors, users, and vendors :Install and assist with testing of new application releases, enhancement requests, and bug fixesObtain and test bug fixes outside of major upgradesAssist in the definition of application and interface specifications as requiredLead working group discussions with end users to optimize application usage and functionalityMay be required to conduct classroom and individual training on various systems, including new employee orientation and application proficiency trainingManage network, data center, and cloud based operations including maintenance of WAN, LAN ,SAN, switches, servers, back-ups, wireless, telephone system, email, etc.,Provide VMWare, Citrix and Veeam supportMay be required to participate in curriculum and instructional design, including development of learning aids (e.g. training manuals, multimedia visual aids, computer-based training materials, intranet resources, and reference materials)Troubleshoot application incidentsParticipates in business requirement definitions, testing, training, implementation, and supportPrimarily provide second level support for PCs, peripherals, telecom devices, and audio visual equipmentParticipates in a seven-day support cycle with support hours covering planned and unplanned eventsProvide active directory exchange, and collaboration supportProvide security devices administration and configuration, such as firewalls, intrusion detectionIdentify security threat, risk, analysis, and containmentPerform moves, adds, and changes of software and hardware for all equipmentConduct problem recognition, investigation, resolution and follow-up steps such as basic end0user, training, recommendation for alternate software / hardware configurationApply change management procedures in the application of vendor patches / upgrades and customer enhancement requestsRecords all Incident, Service, and Change Requests in ticketing systemThe successful candidate will possess the following qualifications / experience :
Diploma or post-secondary education in Computer ScienceOne or more of the following certifications : Microsoft 365 or Azure Certifications, Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA), A+ Certified Technician, Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS), Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MSCE), Certified Network Engineer (CNE or CNE / NT) or Certified Network Administrator3-5 years of experience in a related IT positionExperience in the healthcare industry or in a similar production / service environmentWindows Desktop Operating Systems (Windows 10, 11), and MS Windows Server Operating Systems (2012 - 2022),Active Directory, Group Policy, IIS, MS SQL, Oracle, MS Exchange and MS Office 365 and Azure environmentsThin Client Architectures - Citrix XenApp, VMware Virtualization, HL7, NEC PBX, Security Practices, High Availability concepts and protocols, Backup Tools, Software and Libraries / Autoloaders, Storage Area Networks (iSCSI SAN)Office Productivity Tools : MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, VisioBroad range of telecommunications, network, and desktop knowledge is highly desirable, including principal experience in one of the following groups : Desktops / Servers and related O / S, Active Directory, Xen App, Exchange / Collaboration, Back-up / recovers, Voice and Audio-Visual technologies or Switching, Security Infrastructure, SAN, VMware, Wired and Wireless technologiesPlease send your cover letter and resume, quoting the job title in the subject line, to [email protected]
