Job Description

A leader in the sign industry since 1956, John’s Neon SignsLtd is a full-service sign shop located in Timmins, Ontario. Join our team of professionals as Sign Shop Graphic Designer. We are looking for a full-time, reliable and experienced individual that can work on site (no remote work available) and combines skill and technology to produce computer generated artwork for a variety of media and substrates for all types of signage. We are looking someone that is comfortable working with hand tools, power tools and working at heights as this position includes taking the design from concept to production. This individual must be able to keep up with the challenges of a fast-paced work environment, be well organized, ability to multitask and ensure the design and production meet high standards of quality and safety.

Key Requirements

• Creative and innovative design skills and experience with design software: Adobe Creative Suite, Corel Draw
• Experience in operating sign production equipment: wide format printers, laminators, application tables, electronic shears, hand tools and power tools
• Experience working with a variety of materials such as aluminum, plastic, plexiglass, lexan, glass, metals, coroplast
• Experience in or willingness to learn installing vehicle wraps, wall and window graphics, installing tint, frost and safety films
• Organizational skills, ability to multitask, work under pressure and excellent time management for meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills to effectively liaise with clients, suppliers and team members
• Great interpersonal skills and ability to maintain a friendly and positive relationship with clients, suppliers and team members
• Provide in-person service to walk-in clients
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Detail-oriented and must maintain a high level of accuracy to meet quality control standards
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and surveys to meet design and production standards according to specifications
• Comfortable working at heights off ladders, scissor lifts and boom as required and trained
• Offsite installation services as required
• Must be willing to travel, including overnight stays from time to time
• Flexible working hours, will be required to work out of normal business hours from time to time
• Must have required PPE – safety shoes/boots

Involves working in various weather conditions. Comfortable working at heights, standing, bending for extended periods.
