ABOUT THE ROLE :
The Consultant Technologist is a member of IQMH’s Proficiency Testing team. This position is responsible for planning, designing, preparing, and coordinating proficiency testing models.
The Consultant Technologist analyzes statistical data from participating laboratories and presents summarized data, technical reports, and discordant findings investigations to the Scientific Committees for discussion, follow-up corrective actions, and committee comments.
Main Responsibilities :
- Aligning PT activities with the ISO / IEC 17043 standard, the CT plans, designs, develops, validates, coordinates survey materials, and manages the delivery of PT surveys to participating laboratories in collaboration with Scientific Committees.
- Utilizing various software tools (QView Office, QView Client, Paradigm), the CT develops and analyzes data and organizes the information in reports) to be reviewed at Scientific Committee meetings.
- Plans, prepares reports, coordinates, and assists in the facilitation of PT meetings (Scientific Committee and Professional Advisory Committee (PAC) meetings).
- Continuously monitors and manages the electronic documentation of participating laboratories' performance.
- Responsible for accurate database information around laboratory instrumentation from manufacturer websites.
- Collaborates with Scientific Committees to guide laboratory practices through publications and communications (abstracts, posters, consensus practice recommendations, and professional development courses).
- Collaborates and provides direction and support to internal and external clients.
- Sufficient flexibility to take on the administration of other PT programs in other disciplines as required.
- Engage in growth planning and execution to expand the reach and impact of new programs.
- Engage in product development activities while assisting with product research and competitor analysis to understand consumer preferences.
- Define product specifications, features, and performance requirements based on market demands.
- Conduct testing to validate product design and functionality.
- Manage product documentation, including technical specifications, user manuals, and other marketing collaterals.
Must Have Qualifications
General Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) obtained from a Canadian accredited Medical Laboratory Technology program.A member in good standing with CMLTO.At least 10 years of recent practical experience in genetics and / or cytopathology with provision of proficiency testing or external Quality Assurance programs.Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and facilitation skills.Excellent customer service and client engagement skills.Excellent skills with Microsoft 365 Office (especially Word and Excel).Team player committed to collaborative approach, and ability to work independently.Desired Qualifications
Knowledge and understanding of quality control practice and associated statistics.Quality Assurance / Quality Management certification.Project managements skills.A good understanding and application of quality management systems and cause analysis.WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT :
