Cold Storage Specialist / Shipper Receiver

Position Summary

The Cold Storage Specialist / Shipper Receiver is responsible for the movement and storage of stock in cold storage. The selected candidate will be expected to move stock in and out of storage and keep meticulous records. Additional responsibilities include and are not limited to;

• Safe operation of equipment (Forklift and electric aisle walker )
• Accurate and detailed record keeping
• Contact and communicate with customers by phone and email as required.
• Build relationships with customers, clients and CSR’s
• Shipping of stock to customers – as per their explicit instructions
• Arranging trucks as  required
• Monitoring stock quality and inventory
• Coordinating checks of stock in off site cold storage facilities
• Receiving all other materials / supplies with relevant documentation.
• This is not a typical warehouse environment. We are a working tree seedling nursery.
• Work in various other nursery tasks as needed.

This position will require you to be available to work Saturdays during summer Harvest in June and July. As well as the occasional Saturday in April and May as dictated by customer needs. Outside of the shipping Cold storage  period (March to end of July) alternative  work on the nursery is available.

Qualifications

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

Must be able to lift 45 lbs.  regularly and work in all types of weather indoors and out.
