Job description

Our Fleet Repair & Maintenance team provides a full-service repair and maintenance for our fleet of trucks and trailing equipment, including a van body repair and fabrication shop. Our talented team includes Truck and Trailer Technicians, welders, Intermodal container repair technicians, parts and wash bay employees so as to provide a safe, educational, and productive workplace.

Reporting to the Specialty Shop Manager, we are seeking a Specialty Shop Supervisor  who will support, coach and mentor a team of 10 Intermodal container repair technicians and welders for the repair and maintenance of our fleet and functions including :

  • 450 intermodal containers,
  • Body repair to our fleet of 200 tractors,
  • Fabrication and welding repairs of our 600+ pieces of trailing equipment including pneumatic tanks, side dumps and end dumps, and other specialty equipment,
  • Welding procedures to CWB Certification standards, and
  • Sandblasting & Painting.

Hours of work will be Monday to Friday 7 : 00 am to 3 : 30 pm.

The ideal candidate possesses and the attributes to :

  • Appreciation and ability to work with operation managers in the timely and cost-effective maintenance and repair of equipment.
  • Effective communication and supervisory skills to coach, mentor and create a team atmosphere.
  • Strong commitment to fostering a Safety First approach in our Shop.
  • Mechanical, Intermodal Container and / or Welding knowledge and experience, with a willingness to expand technical skills.
  • Ability to work with FRM leaders to optimize our shop performance and service.
  • Demonstrated time management and organizational skills in handling volume of work and changing demands.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to learn various trucking systems and software (i.e., Truckmate, Isaac, etc.)
