Electronics Power Design Engineer
Responsibilities :
- Explore advanced technological methods to develop innovative solutions and insights, impacting product development strategies.
- Create technical materials for customers that provide leading-edge solutions and insights.
- Communicate with customers to understand their problems and needs, using feedback to shape new product requirements.
- Work with technical clients to design and develop customized system solutions and products.
- Engage in the entire product development process, from concept to production release, following internal project management procedures. This encompasses all stages of development, including design, testing, debugging, EMC, and safety compliance.
- Conduct laboratory experiments and evaluate results, focusing on electrical performance and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).
- Lead or assist in creating product functional specifications, operational theories, design verification test procedures, and various technical documents.
- Participate in the design, analysis, and development of electronic circuits for embedded hardware, mixed-signal, and power conversion applications.
- Apply best practices to balance design complexity, reliability, cost, and manufacturability.
- Provide technical leadership within a multidisciplinary design team, including electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing specialists, throughout the product development cycle.
- Implement design concepts through a combination of computer simulations, laboratory tests, and design verification testing.
- Maintain comprehensive records of design calculations, simulations, tests, and other documentation in the project repository.
- Develop engineering test plans to verify that designs meet electrical, environmental, and functional specifications.
Qualifications :
Experience and Education
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, specializing in Power Electronics.4-7 years of engineering experience in designing power electronics hardware in a manufacturing environment.Familiarity with stage-gate product development processes.Strong verbal and written communication skills for documentation, discussions, and correspondence.Experience in designing Inverter / Chargers, Chargers, Solar Charge Controllers, and DC-DC Converters.Proven experience in successfully executing development projects from concept to production.Experience in designing power conversion products up to 5kW.Proficiency in designing with and selecting IGBTs, IGBT gate drivers, control circuits, MOSFETs, and MOSFET gate drivers. Capable of performing component loss and stress calculations and applying design margins. Skilled in selecting semiconductors and passive components.Knowledge of hardware design and interfacing embedded microcontrollers and FPGAs. Skilled in developing control algorithms, embedded controller design, and converter stability analysis.Familiarity with communication protocols such as Modbus / TCP, EtherNet / IP, CAN, and USB.Solid understanding of effective product design principles and standards, including those for hardware, firmware, and product safety.Experience with worst-case analysis, design for reliability (DFR), design for quality (DFQ), and FMEA principles and practices.Proficiency in Printed Circuit Board layout for power electronics, high-speed, and mixed-signal circuits.Based on the experience , the salary range is 80-120k CADKnowledgeable in EMC design principles, EMC design, and testing, including preventive measures.Familiarity with industry safety standards and certifications (e.g., UL1741, UL458, CSA107.2, IEC62109, NEC, NFPA 70E, etc.) is a plus.
