JOB SUMMARY
The mandate of Community Recreation, Culture & Sports Services is to build an inclusive, vibrant, and creative city, unique in identity, and rich in culture. The Service provides strategic vision and innovative leadership in managing customer centric sports and recreation venues and programs, including the management of facilities and / or land for the delivery of indoor and outdoor recreation programs and services, and fosters an environment in which Ottawa’s arts, heritage, festival and event sectors can evolve sustainably.
Under the guidance of a Recreation Supervisor, you aid in the operation of the facility by providing support to the facility, athletic track, various sports fields and grounds maintenance, and monitoring participants during open track training time and large athletic events. Work is performed in accordance with related legislation, policies, procedures, and guidelines. You are also responsible for understanding and following all City of Ottawa guidelines, policies and procedures in relation to cash handling, customer service, information, sales, registrations and facility bookings.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Note : minimum age of 16 years is required for this Summer Student job.
High School Graduate
Note : Student must be returning to school in the fall
Less than 4 months of related experience is required
CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENCES
Current Standard First Aid, CPR-C and AED certificatesAODA Accessibility / IASR Training
