This is a temporary assignment effective immediately to June 30, 2026.
Qualifications
- Master's degree or Diploma / Certificate in Special Education
- Valid BC teaching certificate and current membership in the Teacher Regulation Branch
- A senior leave course and experience in Level B testing
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training (or willingness to train)

Evidence of excellent interpersonal, conflict resolution and communication skills in working with staff, students and parentsExperience in competency based IEP development using MyED BCTrauma sensitive practicesAbility to schedule and direct Certified Education Assistants and Education Support Worker(s)Demonstrated experience in providing behavioural assessmentGeneral knowledge of the renewed curriculum for middle school programsDemonstrated ability to work collegially and as part of the school based teamAbility to relate effectively to middle school studentsCurrent knowledge of and interest in applications of computer technologyComfortable in working with students who struggle with grade level Math and Language ArtsComfortable and confident working with support high incidence studentsSuccessful recent experience working with students with special needsCommitted to stimulating student interest and confidence in learningExcellent classroom management skillsSuccessful classroom teaching experienceDemonstrated ability to use a variety of current instructional strategies and assessment methodsThe Learning Resource Teacher Is Responsible For
