Job description

Role Responsibilities

Are you looking for a great opportunity to provide legal and administrative support for the prosecution of criminal and provincial offences? The Appeals and Specialized Prosecutions Office (ASO) of the Alberta Crown Prosecution Service (ACPS) has an exciting opportunity for one Temporary Disclosure Clerk position in Edmonton office.

The Disclosure Clerk reports to their supervisor and will work independently within the disclosure team to ensure adherence to Crown disclosure obligations under the law. There will be extensive contact with prosecutors, paralegals and assistants involved in the criminal prosecution process.

Roles and Responsibilities :

  • Ingest electronic documents and ensure proper organization and storage in accordance with legal requirements.
  • Conduct quality control reviews of documents to verify accuracy and completeness.
  • Log and track documents in Excel to maintain an up-to-date record of all disclosures.
  • Respond to telephone and counter inquiries related to disclosure, providing clear and accurate information.
  • Determine the sensitivity of information in police reports and statements and make decisions regarding necessary redactions.
  • Perform other administrative duties as needed to ensure office goals are achieved.
  • Provide coverage for the reception front desk when required.

  • Strong working knowledge of office procedures and computer programs such as the Justice Online Information Network (JOIN), PRISM, Microsoft Office, Database programs and Adobe Pro.
