Job Summary :
As an Abatement Technician at Paulson Fire and Flood, you will help restore homes and businesses by safely completing demolition and small scale abatement work, then supporting drying and rebuild steps as needed. You will also be assigned to abatement jobs involving hazards such as asbestos, lead, or silica, following company safety procedures and required training.

Responsibilities :
Complete assigned abatement work involving hazards such as asbestos, lead, or silica, including following site specific safety plans, using required PPE, setting up work areas or containment as directed, and completing detailed clean up and disposal stepsComplete controlled demolition related to property damage including drywall cuts and selective removal of affected materialsPerform small abatements in kitchens and bathrooms, including safe removal of limited affected materials, containment setup when required, and detailed clean upProtect customer spaces by setting up dust control, floor protection, and clean work zonesSupport flood and emergency tasks such as water extraction, content manipulation, initial drywall cuts, psychrometry as trained, and taking photos throughout the job life cycleSet up, move, and monitor drying equipment such as air movers and dehumidifiers as directedParticipate in repair work, including taping and mudding, sanding, texturing, caulking, minor plaster repairs, and basic finish repairSupport carpentry and construction tasks as needed, including installing baseboards, vapour barriers, drywall board ups, and general jobsite prep for repairsPerform painting related tasks such as surface preparation, priming, sealing, staining, and painting on interior and exterior surfaces as assignedUse tools and equipment properly and report issues or safety concerns right awayMaintain a clean and organized work area including proper storage and basic maintenance of equipment in your vehicle and on siteCommunicate clearly with project managers and customers using phone, text, and email updates as neededComplete paperwork and job tasks using company apps such as Restorify and EncircleParticipate in the emergency on call rotation and respond to new losses when scheduledComplete daily timecards and required work related documentsTravel to other locations in the East Kootenay’s occasionally as neededBenefits :
