Your Contribution

As a Civil Technician , you will work in collaboration with the Engineering team.

Your main responsibilities will be :

Apply and promote Englobe’s health and safety rules;

Assisting the Project Managers, Engineers and Technicians in fulfilling multi-disciplinary civil, construction risk and structural health monitoring, geotechnical, environmental, geosciences, remediation, groundwater, and soil related projects across Southern Ontario;

Coordinating and performing pre-construction condition surveys, vibration and noise monitoring of buildings and structures for construction and blasting related projects;

Carrying out field geotechnical materials testing and sampling at work sites, potentially including soil compaction testing, concrete testing, asphalt field compaction and sampling;

Consistently executing prescribed company technical procedures, safe work practices and work plans while completing field, laboratory, and office work;

Assist with the installation, commissioning, and monitoring of geotechnical and structural health instrumentation sensors and data collection networks;

Recording test data and preparing factual reports, summaries, data sheets or graphs for interpretation of test results by the supervisor;

Help maintain databases of records for pre-condition survey files, calibration certificates, equipment manuals and applicable standards;

Participating in project management, site and staff planning meetings;

Handling difficult situations with tact and diplomacy to maintain positive working relationships with all internal and external contacts; and

Performing other related duties as required.

Your Profile

College Diploma in the Civil Engineering Field (Technician or Technology Level);

Understanding of civil engineering and construction;

Ability to work independently while contributing to the team’s goals;

Excellent written and oral communication skills in English;

Strong technical writing skills, ability to present information concisely and clearly in reports;

Proficient with use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint);

Ability to handle multi-tasking and maintain focus in a busy workplace;

Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure;

Must be available on occasion to work evenings, nights, and weekends to meet project needs;

Ability to problem-solve and tackle new assignments effectively and efficiently;

Ability to work out of town, if required; and

Rotation work at remote mining sites is a possibility.
