Role Overview
As Health Promotion Manager you will lead the local health promotion team and oversee delivery of evidence‑based workshops in Nutrition, Injury Prevention, Social Wellness, Addictions Awareness and Respect in the Workplace. You will collaborate with partners to influence policies, enhance the built environment, and develop activity plans that address the unique needs of the military chain of command. Your goal is to make healthy choices the easy choice for Canadian Armed Forces members.
Responsibilities
- Lead local Health Promotion team.
- Plan, manage, control and evaluate health promotion programs.
- Facilitate group workshops and team‑building activities with adults.
- Prepare and deliver multimedia social‑marketing campaigns.
- Collect, analyze and electronically report data.
- Write reports and maintain documentation.
- Manage projects, budgets and personnel administration.
- Develop and maintain policies, procedures and regulatory compliance.
- Advise senior leadership and influence policies to promote healthy behaviours.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Health Promotion, Nursing, Mental Health/Social Work, Nutrition, Human Kinetics or a related field.
- Experience:
- Planning, managing and evaluating health promotion operations.
- Group facilitation and adult team‑building.
- Establishing and sustaining professional networks.
- Developing and delivering social marketing campaigns.
- Data collection, analysis and electronic reporting.
- Adult learning delivery and workshop facilitation.
- Report writing.
- Project management.
- Budget administration.
- Personnel administration.
- Developing, applying and maintaining policies and procedures.
- Competencies: Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.
- Language Requirements: English Essential; bilingual (English & French) an asset. Advanced reading, functional writing, advanced oral.
