Northern Lakes College has the following full time temporary position available :
Liaison, Continuing Education and Corporate Training (Internal)
Salary : $60,996 to $80,700 per year
Location : Slave Lake
March 2, 2026 to April 2, 2027
Qualifications :
- Minimum two-year diploma or two years of university in a field such as Business, Administration, Marketing, Project Management, etc;
- Proven customer service skills;
- Proven ability to effectively communicate;
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License;
- Three to five years’ experience working in a related occupation, preferably with oversite of operational processes / systems or within an educational institution;
- Criminal record check vulnerable sector; and
- A combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
Additional Qualifications Suggested :
Knowledge of Agresso or other similar data management systems;Experience achieving team and project goals;Data input and analysis experience; andSales / Marketing experience.Nature and Scope of Work
Meet the educational and training needs of Continuing Education and Corporate Training customers through the delivery of relevant, timely, accessible and quality courses, programs and services which contribute to the strategic direction of Northern Lakes College.
Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinate non-credit courses and programs
Identify needs at the individual, community, and company level and create quotes for private trainingPromote programs, courses & services;Determine an annualized schedule of non-credit courses to be delivered within a designated geographic areaIdentify potential instructors to deliver courses, determine costs of course delivery, contract instructors and conduct evaluationsBook delivery sites. If being held at a college campus, work with local College staff to promote courses, take registrations, access facilities, set-up of the course, clean-up and return paperwork, ensure maximum accessibility of courses by utilizing new technology to deliver courses whenever possibleMonitor low-enrollment courses and promote new coursesSurvey business and industry on a regularized schedule to determine needs and to build capacity, and answer specific questions that arise from curriculum development for new coursesCollect and maintain current course outlines for CECT database and websiteExternal and internal liaison
Identify potential partnerships for deliveriesCreate contact databases for specific client groups (communities, services, etc.), manage contacts through follow-up and updating databasesSell educational / training solutions to organizationsProvide input re pricing strategies (group rates, discounts, special promotions, etc.)Work with the CECT team to provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external clientsAttend CCEC meetings (on a rotating basis with other Liaisons) and selected CEC meetingsContract oversight
Oversee contract instructors;Support the evaluation process vis-a-vis contract instructors;Work with contract instructors on performance issues;Recommend to Chair which instructors are not to be hired again due to performance issues;Orient new contract instructors to the college and expectations of their role; andPrepare instructional contracts and service offerings for approval in Agresso.Development, research and project management
Keep abreast of new developments in related workforces;Identify trends in registration; andForecast industry, commercial, non-profit, First Nations, and government training needs based on trends, anticipated and regulation changes, industry needs.Provide input re forecasting and budgeting
Assist in forecasting revenue and costs for programming annually and determining break-even point for courses;Provide input to the director re when courses should be cancelled due to low enrolments and when to take a “loss” for a course in order to gain future business;Recommend pricing for training (bulk & individual) and monitor the workforce environment for emerging trends / changes;Assist the Chair to monitor / review numbers regularly (enrolments, revenue, costs); andContribute to a fully leveraged Continuing Education and Corporate Training budget through sound fiscal oversight of course delivery.Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
