Our client, a major Oil and Gas company, is looking for an H&S Advisor to join their team on a 1-year contract in Christina Lake, AB on a 7 / 7 rotational schedule (fly in / fly out).

Description :

Reporting to the Team Lead H&S Major Projects, the role of the H&S Advisor is to provide subject matter expertise and drive consistent application of policy, standards, and procedures at the field level.

An H&S Advisor is a role model advancing the H&S strategy and providing expertise and direction to the business. Building and maintaining strong team-focused relationships is critical to the success of this position.

Responsibilities :

  • Provide direct support to the company's execution teams regarding the interpretation of applicable OHS Legislation, Industry standards & practices, the company's H&S program components, and worker training requirements.
  • Able to speak with authority and coach on CVE programs, processes and standards.
  • Assist in the implementation of the company's strategy and direction and goal alignment with the organization’s priorities.
  • Participating in the review of project-specific safety documents and associated contractor performance meetings.
  • Ensure H&S planning is in line with the company's business strategy and growth plans.
  • Coach, influence, motivate, and empower others (internally and externally) with regards to H&S ownership.
  • Communicate relevant and timely H&S information to the right stakeholders.
  • Steward safe performance to the company Operational Integrity Management System (COIMS) and related H&S requirements.
  • Assist in building and sustaining the H&S capability platform tailored to business needs for field operations.
  • Collaborate within the organization to share best practices, and lessons learnt and improve knowledge management.
  • Stay abreast of emerging H&S issues and legislation. Keep the respective assets updated with relevant requirements and assist with compliance with H&S legislation.

Qualifications :

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry, ideally in Major Projects functions, specializing in the H&S Occupation.
  • OH&S Education such as NCSO, CRSP or CRST.
  • Possesses strong Health & Safety management system technical knowledge.
  • Able to make decisions under tight timelines and multiple pressures.
  • Searches for understanding and to find new and appropriate solutions
