What you will be doing :
- Reporting to theDirector of Finance & Business Support with a dotted lineto the Assistant Director of Finance & Business Support youwill maintain a system of accounts and controls providing accuratedata necessary for all required accounting reports andstatements
- Prepare month end journal entriesensuring efficient completion of all monthendfunctions
- Assist in the preparation of monthendbalance sheet account reconciliation andanalysis
- Assist in the completion of financialstatements management reports in accordance with Corporate Policies& Procedures for review
- Coordinate andensure that all daily weekly semimonthly and monthly managementreports are issued on a timely and accuratebasis
- Participate in the creation of the AnnualOperating & Capital Budgets Strategic Plan and MonthlyOperating Forecasts
- Assist in the preparationfor internal external audits
- Assist in theimplementation and completion of special projects as assigned bythe DOF / ADOF
- Assist in the effectiveutilization and integration of hotel and accounting technologysystems including software applications current andfuture.
- Assist in the development ofOperational Leaders in the interpretation orientation training andanalysis of financial procedures and decisionmaking
- Develop an engaged enthusiastic andguestfocused department
- Recruit developevaluate and motivate the team
- Represent theAccounting office and the ADOF / DOF in theirabsence
- Actively contribute to departmentalleadership and direction
- Participate in thehotel emergency plan and crisis procedures and ensures that theyare kept up to date area of the emergency plan and crisis planningand procedures
- Adhere to and promotes allCompany Health & Safety policies and procedures to ensure asafe work environment
- Follow all safetypolicies
- Perform all other duties and specialprojects asassigned

Yourexperience and skillsinclude :
PreviousProfessional designation or acceptable university degree with anappropriate specialization in Accounting or enrolled in arecognized accounting program with progression to 3rd or 4th levelpreferredMinimum of 3 years of accountingexperience and at least 2 years previous accounting experience at asupervisory / managerial levelProven leadershipand coaching skills with a track record of developing a highlymotivated and crosstrained group of progressive accountingprofessionalsFamiliarity with hotel operatingsystems and software including Sun Systems Hyperion MicrosoftOffice (especially Excel) Silverware Birchstreet Watson Day ForceOpera PMS ExcelsExceptional administrativeinterpersonal and written and verbal communicationskillsHighly responsible & reliablewith the ability to work well under pressure in a fast pacedenvironmentPhysicalAspects of Position (include but are not limitedto) :
