DESCRIPTION

To support this priority, Amazon is seeking an experienced and innovative Senior Site Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Manager to join our team. In this position, you will be responsible for partnering with the site operations team to execute company WHS policies and ensure compliance with all applicable local and regional regulations. You will lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce risks and ensure a safe working environment for our associates.
You must demonstrate the ability to build trust with cross-functional teams, influence change through risk assessments and safety data analysis, and communicate effectively. Training and instructing operations leadership and site WHS professionals in company policies, while helping regional teams incorporate safety standards, will be key parts of your role. Your safety program experience and ergonomic knowledge are crucial.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and lead a team of Safety Managers and Safety Professionals at your designated site.
- Create and execute leadership development plans for your team.
- Assess safety talent and build bench strength for current and future needs.
- Ensure compliance with local / regional regulations and Amazon safety policies.
- Monitor site safety performance and implement corrective actions for deficiencies.
- Maintain accurate safety records and provide reporting and metrics.
- Analyze safety metrics and incident trends, and propose action plans to senior leadership.
- Audit safety practices, record-keeping, and training effectiveness.
- Partner with safety and operations teams to implement best practices.
- Perform targeted safety improvement events like Kaizen.
- Ensure safety training is delivered effectively and policies are understood.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree7+ years of experience in safety / environmental programs in operations7+ years of people and performance management experienceCPR / First Aid CertificationExperience with lean principles and process improvementWillingness to work various shifts, including nights and weekendsPreferred Qualifications
