If youre passionate about building strong safety cultures and making a meaningful impact across diverse industrial and jobsite environments, this role offers the opportunity to lead, influence, and grow.

The HSE Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive health, safety, and environmental programs across DYWIDAGs Canadian manufacturing plants located in Surrey, BC and Stouffville, ON, as well as supporting construction field operations throughout Canada. This role ensures compliance with local, provincial, and federal regulations while fostering a proactive, engaged safety culture across diverse work environments, including precast / industrial production facilities and active job sites.

The HSE Coordinator works closely with plant leadership, field supervisors, engineering teams, and corporate stakeholders to drive continuous improvement in workplace safety, environmental stewardship, and operational risk management.

Essential Functions

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret HSE data to identify trends and opportunities for risk reduction.
  • Perform routine site inspections, shop-floor audits, and construction jobsite walkthroughs to identify hazards and verify adherence to safety standards.
  • Prepare clear and actionable reports, communicating findings to operations, project management, and senior leadership.
  • Monitor regulatory updates and industry best practices; revise company policies as needed to maintain compliance.
  • Serve as primary contact with regulatory agencies during inspections, reporting processes, and compliance review activities.
  • Coordinate environmental compliance activities such as waste management, air quality, chemical handling, and spill response.
  • Maintain and improve emergency response plans for plants and field sites; organize drills and ensure workforce readiness.
  • Foster a strong, engaged safety culture by promoting open communication, involvement, and continuous improvement in all areas of HSE

Core Competencies

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills applicable to both manufacturing and construction settings.
  • Ability to collaborate across departments and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and coach employees at all levels.
  • Commitment to developing and sustaining a proactive, positive safety culture.
  • Travel Requirements

  • Travel between 2550% within Canada, primarily between Surrey, BC; Stouffville, ON; and field project locations.
