The Durham Catholic District School Board is located just east of Toronto and is renowned for providing comprehensive Catholic education to over 22500 students in 38 elementary schools 7 secondary schools and 6 continuing and alternative education centers throughout Durham Region.

POSITION : SUPPLY LINC / ESL INSTRUCTOR

CLB LEVELS : Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) levels 1 6 Literacy

HOURS OF WORK : Varied dependent upon systems operational needs (8 : 30 a.m. to 11 : 30 a.m. 12 : 00 p.m. to 3 : 00 p.m. 6 : 00 p.m. - 9 : 00 p.m.)

START DATE : As soon as possible

LOCATIONS : Whitby Language Center : 1003 Giffard Street Whitby ON L1N 2S3

Ajax Welcome Center : 458 Fairall Street Ajax ON L1S 1R6

Ajax Continuing Education : 458 Fairall Street Unit 7 Ajax ON L1S

RATE OF PAY : $45.92 per hour plus 4% vacation pay

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Deliver classroom instruction to LINC / ESL students both in-person and virtually from assigned locations in Whitby and Ajax.
• Follow lesson plans and / or prepare lesson plans according to Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) levels and student needs.
• Implementation of CLB related activities and competencies.
• Complete required reports and student attendance.
