This is a remote position.

As a

Software Developer   specializing in

Mainframe   and

COBOL , you will be responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and upgrading software solutions to meet organizational requirements. Your expertise will be crucial in analyzing client needs, recommending IT solutions, and ensuring the efficiency and quality of large-scale IT systems. You will lead complex software development tasks, resolve critical technical issues, and collaborate closely with business partners and architects to standardize solutions and optimize system performance.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities :

  • Develop and implement complex execution strategies for business solutions.
  • Analyze, design, and develop software products (coding, automation, and testing).
  • Create documentation, guidelines, and procedures for training purposes.
  • Collaborate with business partners to standardize IT solutions.
  • Identify and resolve complex operational and conceptual issues during major incidents.
  • Lead software package installations, testing, and in-house application deployments.

Required Skills :

  • 5-7+ years of COBOL programming experience :
  • Mainframe MVS
  • VSAM
  • IDMS
  • CICS
  • Easytrieve

    • Qualifications :

  • Minimum of 5-7  years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of French is preferred but optional.
  • Background working in the financial services, trust, and / or insurance sectors
  • Must be highly effective working remotely
  • Must be able to travel every quarter or so to Montreal, Canada

Required Skills : 5+ years of experience in COBOL. 5+ years of experience in JCL (Job Control Language). Minimum 3+ years of experience with IMS or DB2 databases. Experience with CICS or IMS transaction systems (preferred). Knowledge of CLIST or REXX scripting (a plus). 5+ years of development experience (preferred). Qualifications : Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience. Knowledge of French is preferred but optional. Other combinations of qualifications and experience may be considered.
