About the role

We’re looking for a Unit Manager to join our growing team!

The CL-SL Ops & Planning team supports national strategic projects for Commercial Lines and Specialty Solutions. As a Unit Manager reporting to a Manager in CL-SL Ops & Planning, you will oversee a team of Business Analysts and / or Product Owners, their professional development and operational efficiency. This position can be based in any of the Intact Canada office locations.

Identify and develop talent, manage performance and professional development.

Encourage and support the career development of the team by identifying training and mentorship opportunities, including Agile, requirements gathering and analysis, business processes and best practices.

Implements continuous improvement processes and practices ensuring the most efficient and effective use of analysis tools, resources and processes.

Maintains team's capacity plan in a proactive and efficient manner and continuously seeks solutions to achieve objectives, meet priorities and support organization’s roadmap.

Collaborate and build partnerships with stakeholders including individuals in Corporate UW, Actuarial, Distribution and IT.

May be asked to lead, define, negotiate, communicate and monitor an assigned project and work closely with other business stakeholders to propose solutions and meet department needs and objectives.

Work closely with manager to assess and prioritize new requests.

What you bring to the table :

You have a minimum of 1 to 3 years Management and 3+ years Lead / Senior BA / Product Owner experience.

Strong people leadership skills including the ability to engage, motivate, and coach staff.

Strong teamwork, communication and relationship building skills, demonstrated experience managing internal and external clients

You have strong business, strategic and financial acumen and understand how pieces fit together.

You forge strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and can work with all levels from individual contributor to executive, and from different areas of the business.

You have strong written and verbal communication skills and are comfortable giving presentations to employees and to executives alike.

You are experienced in operational change management, ensuring that all stakeholders are aware and prepared for upcoming changes.

Strong knowledge of Business Analysis, Product Owner and Agile best practices.

Be comfortable with ambiguity and perform well under pressure.

For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.

No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.

Nice-to-Have :

You have proven familiarity with Commercial P&C and / or Specialty Solutions.

PMP, CAPM, CBAP and / or CCBA certifications are an asset.

Familiarity with Project Management is an asset.
