Our client is seeking a Senior DataOps / Cloud Data Engineer for an 11-month contract in Toronto.

This role offers a hybrid work arrangement : 3 days onsite and 2 days remote.

Responsibilities

Participate in reviewing project, work request, and maintenance release artifacts such as Use Cases and System Requirement Specifications.

Deliver detailed system design documents and supporting documentation adhering to standards.

Design, develop, and optimize data / database CI / CD pipelines.

Design logical and physical data models using Sybase Power Designer.

Prepare database changes in DACPAC and develop Azure CI / CD release pipelines to deploy DACPACs.

Promote database changes through various environments : Development, Integration Testing, QA, UAT, and Production.

Provision data in cloud environments as per requirements.

Design and develop data loading, conversion, and migration programs.

Implement data conversion for VLD (Very Large Data) in OLAP and OLTP environments to Cloud SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS.

Design and develop data models, data mapping, data warehouses, data lakes, and data lakehouses.

Manage and optimize Oracle, Azure SQL, and Synapse databases.

Support heterogeneous data replication solutions in the cloud.

Develop complex Oracle PL / SQL programs and SQL Server stored procedures.

Optimize performance of PL / SQL and SQL Server procedures.

Monitor incidents and resolve issues promptly.

Administer reference data as needed.

Create and test database backup / recovery and automation scripts.

Handle database administration tasks such as patching, upgrades, monitoring, performance tuning, partitioning, capacity planning, and OEM upgrades.

Document and troubleshoot database problems.

Provide knowledge transfer to staff throughout the project.
