Responsibilities
As a professional driver with Arrow Transportation Systems Inc working for the Chilliwack Mining Branch you will have the opportunity to haul B train trailers and operate various equipment from tandem to tri drive trucks. We primarily haul copper ore form Princetons Copper Mountain mine we also haul biowaste road salt and soils. Our various shift schedules offer a level of flexibility to work with your life style. Major Responsibilites
Oversee cargo handling and secure loads including equipment preparation use of safe work practices and compliance with applicable Acts regulations rules protocols and established metrics.
Conduct pre-trip en route and post-trip inspections of trucks trailers and mobile equipment to ensure safety roadworthiness and regulatory compliance.
Safely maneuver trucks and trailers into loading and unloading positions following loading crew signals and ensuring correct vehicle and equipment placement.
Operate loading equipment as required by the role and verify that all mechanical and safety systems are in good working order.
Assist with loading and unloading activities ensure loads are properly fastened protected from the elements and tarped when required and clean up debris resulting from loading or unloading.
Comply with all applicable legislation including safe operation load securement hours of service occupational health and safety transportation of dangerous goods and weight and dimension requirements.
Report vehicle defects accidents traffic violations damage and safety hazards encountered at load unload yard or shop locations to the appropriate supervisor.
Maintain accurate and complete documentation and logs including bills of lading hours of work and vehicle service and repair records in accordance with provincial and federal regulations.
Operate onboard and communication equipment (e.g. truck cab computers CB radios telephones) to exchange information with supervisors dispatch bases and other drivers.
Provide feedback to supervisors or dispatch regarding customer issues mechanical concerns or delivery problems.
Communicate professionally and respectfully with customers co-workers and the public at all times.
Train others as required.
