This is a newly created role built to centralize and strengthen costing oversight in a large-scale manufacturing environment. Costing responsibilities are currently distributed across leadership and operational teams. This hire will bring structure, accountability, and consistency to a core financial function.
The Role
The Manager, Cost Accounting will :
- Conduct monthly product costing reviews
- Oversee escalation and de-escalation assessments
- Analyze order-level charges and credits
- Maintain the authorization for expenditure / shop order system
- Track and analyze cost variances
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close
- Review reconciliations and costing-related workpapers
- Support stakeholder-mandated audits, including pension-related audits
- Review weekly payments and sales invoicing processes
- Provide financial support related to ownership asset tracking when required
- Participate in ad hoc financial analysis and special projects
This role works closely with the Controller and CFO and interacts cross-functionally with operations, procurement, and supply chain.

- CPA designation
- Minimum 2+ years in a manufacturing environment
- Strong grounding in cost accounting principles
- Advanced Excel skills
- Comfortable working within legacy ERP systems (AS / 400 environment)
- Strong internal communicator
- Detail-oriented and process-driven
- Comfortable in a stable, long-term role without a rapid promotion track
- Able to operate independently without direct reports
